The team of our faculty was successful in the competition for mini-grants within the framework of the European University Alliance 4 EU+

The team, consisting of academics and doctoral students of the Department of Administrative Law (Gabriela Blahoudková, Christopher-Alexander De la Cruz, Jakub Handrlica, Jan Nešpor, Liilja Serhiichuk and Vladimír Sharp) was successful in the university-wide competition for mini-grants within the European University Alliance 4 EU+.

The mini-grant on the topic of smart cities, which aims to address special legal arrangements that enable the deployment of smart technologies in urban development. The solution of the mini-grant will take place in cooperation with partners from three other institutions involved in the European University Alliance 4 EU+ (the Legal / Tech Law in Copenhagen, Interdisciplinary Research Center on Public Administration in Milan and the Digital Law Centre in Geneva). At the same time, the academicians from the University of Barcelona will be also participating at the mini-grant. 

As part of the mini-grant, a hybrid workshop on the topic of legal issued of smart cities is planned, which will take place in October 2024 at our Law Faculty. The goal of the project is to establish permanent academic relations with partner universities and to be successful in the longer term in obtaining a European grant project within the Horizon Europe platform.
